Tasha Blair

Designer/Writer
A graduate of York University's Theatre department, Tasha's involvement with the stage is both as a writer and designer.

While at York Tasha worked in various roles on several of the department's shows, including as costume designer for the 2003 production of ThreePenny Opera. She was also the lighting design consultant for a show called A Fat Cocoon Sings an Opera and was in charge of costuming the 2003 Toronto Fringe show Girls!Girls!Girls!. In May of 2004, Tasha was lighting designer for Mud Puddle Productions' staging of the musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

As for her writing, the diversity of Tasha's work was made apparent with her participation in York University's annual GroundZero Festival. In 2001 the intense dramatic piece The Dark Man challenged actors and audience alike while in 2002 Mike the Canadian Vampire took to the stage for a comedic romp that's name speaks for itself.

Other Works

Tasha doesn't limit her work to the stage. She recently designed an outfit, complete with accessories, for a fashion show fundraiser. In the past she has been approached to create special costume pieces for street performers and to offer her tailoring services as a prize in a fundraising auction.

Most recently, Tasha has taken up the fine art of knitting and is currently designing and knitting her own pieces (in addition to her usual designing and sewing of her own clothing) whenever she has time.
